Since this new normal era, many Indonesians have started doing sports activities outside their homes. Such as cycling, tennis, running, etc. But according to a quick survey conducted by muniyo.com, 52% people choose badminton as their favorite sport activities during this time.

One of the reasons why there are still many who like the sport of badminton is because badminton does not directly collide with the body between one player and the opposing player who is competing. The existence of a net barrier in the middle of the field can also make people feel safe to maintain physical contact.

People's favoritsm for badminton may also be related to what is said by The researchers at Tohoku Gakuin University (a place where people took cognitive test of before and after excercise). They said that badminton helps to boost ‘executive function’ which is responsible for paying attention, organising, planning, initiating tasks, regulating emotions and maintaining self-control. Further studies have also gone on to suggest how the sport can help people to sleep better, reduce stress and anxiety and can prevent diseases such as dementia.
